If your unsure how to critique, try anyway, it can really help you learn by reviewing other poet's work. Just let the poet know what you think. |

Poem Of the Month : Nominations and Voting Members may nominate poems for "Poem of the Month" at Poem Online. The winning poem will be posted on the main page for the month. Rules: Members may nominate 1 poem that is not their own. Nominations will start on the 1rst of each month and Close on the 15th. On the 16th the top 5 poems that have the most nominations will be voted on by the members. On the last day of the month voting will close at 24:00 hours CST. The winning poem will then be displayed for the month and nominations will begin for the next month. Nominated poems must have been posted no more than 2 months prior than that month and not have been nominated in prior months already. Poems may be nominated from any forum in the community. |

While there are many companies that advertise publishing options on banner ads on this site, Poem Online does not officially endorse any publisher. Poem Online suggest researching and asking for advice before submitting to any publisher. |

Poetry Workshop There are three types of topics posted here: 1.) Special Challenges -----for example, if you want to challenge us all to write a sonnet, post with information or a link about writing one, then start off with your submission. In the collaboration section there are 2 types 2.) Who's line is it? -----for the ones we've already started where each person gives a new line to create one poem. 3.) Rubber Band Series Poems-----this is for entire poems by one author, then others add their poems that are inspired by that one (the ideas bounce from one poet to another like rubber) For example, the LB series. All Things Prose Written works that are not considered poetry may be posted here. Short stories, essays, novel chapters, editorials, etc. Posts have a 12,000 character limit. If it runs over, just add a reply with the rest of the piece. Limit 2 pages (24,000 characters) You must critique at least one other member's prose piece before posting your own. |
