Angel Tears

I saw an angel weeping,
tormented by what she'd seen;
she had stayed too long in paradise,
where the light is bright and sheen.

Tonight, she saw the darkness
surrounding her in reams;
lonely is this endless night,
or so it always seems.

Then breaks the dawn,
In the distance mornings light;
she sees her host still shining,
and rejoices at the sight!

For this morrow is her hope,
the promise of the golden day;
when the darkness is no longer,
and there is no need to pray.
